Picked up the Persona at around 4:00pm. Everything seems to be good. From the EON centre, I went to fill petrol at Shell Piasau. The guys over there were talking about the car. It so obvious that my car just came out of the showroom with all seat plastic covers still attached. Smooth ride, quiet engine, freaking cold air conditioning, basic but decent sound system, but the brake system is a bit on the soft side compare to my Civic (with Integra brakes lol).

exhausted but not so... I guess...
My timetable is quite pack today. There was like four classes from 9:30AM until 5:00PM with only half an hour break between 1:30PM to 2:00PM. Sem2, 2007 PR300 class Yes, this is pretty much our class for PR300. It's a PR consultancy unit. We have only like nine people, divided into three groups. Pretty small isn't it? We'll be meeting a real life client next Wednesday. This unit is like The Apprentice. Three groups will 'compete' (it's not like we're getting eliminated or winner gets prize or anything), which is how we'll be assessed, apart from some minor individual assignment and final exam. We're going to make a safety training video for the School of Engineering, which is our corporate video project for this semester. Initially Saiful, Diyana and me had agreed to be in the same group and we wanted Dian to join us as well. Apparently Lionel wanted to make the video for the engineering guys too, and Mr.Rama told us to pick either one of them to join us. Actually I don't mind either one is fine with me, but it is better if we take a female so that the group will somehow be more 'balanced'. But we managed to convince Mr.Rama that we should have 5 people in a group instead of 4 because there's like 15 of us. It seemed that Mr.Rama was more worried that if we couldn't get any project to do instead of solving the group problem. That was true... and I guessed, different people have different ways of thinking. Scott's group (with their new member Akam... lol) might be doing video for the Sunflower Care Centre, and the other group... err... I'm not sure what they'll be doing actually. I heard places like Cherrie Berries being mentioned in their discussion. My car had the sudden dead engine syndrome again today when I was on my way back from campus. I had to wait for like one minute before I was able to start the car again. There has been some oil leak also, I believe coming out from the camshaft pulley side. Gonna send it for check-up again this Saturday. This is a headache. Oh yea... we'll be having our first meeting with the corporate video client tomorrow afternoon at campus. I feel so lazy....uhuhuhuh.... ...reading log.... ....die.....

What a bad first day of the semester. My car just broke down this morning. I was driving at about 80km/h on the Piasau main road when the engine suddenly shuts down. Luckily I managed to steer and enter Piasau Jaya. Finally the car lost its momentum and stops somewhere in front of a bus stop, slightly at the side of the road so that I won't obstruct the traffic (not like some those idiots/ignorants who often fetch their kids at school and stop in the middle of the freaking double lane highway causing jams and sudden emergency brakes). The car couldn't start. CEL is on. So I went to the passenger foot area and rip the carpet to take a look at the ECU. Honda ECU is so convenient. You don't even need to bring your car to the mechanic to tell whether there's something wrong with the engine. It throws the error code to you, it blinks to you. Yes, the marvelous electronic invention does blink to you, with its red LED eyes. It was a one long blink, and five short blinks. That means error code #15. According to the Honda ECU error code reference list, this means 'ignition output signal' (yes, it sounds slightly geeky, I know...). OK, something wrong with the ignition. Honda ECU
Waited for Saiful to pick me up. Then I cranked the engine one more time. Thank god it worked. So I quickly drove it to my mechanic's place to get it fixed. Apart from the whole car breakdown thingy, I had two FTV lectures today. We haven't really decided about the group members, but it seems that me and Saiful, and Diyana will end up as a group for the corporate documentary class, with another two vacancy left. For the advertisement and music video class, it could be me and Saiful, and Scott, plus another two empty slot. Oh ya, I got a compliment for my Megadeth's "Peace Sells But Who's Buying?" T-shirt from Mr. Rama. I know he's a fan as well. He wore the "Arsenal of Megadeth" tee that day. My sis got her Savvy fixed for the oil leak. I'm not sure about the details, and I bet she know nuts about it although the person in charge would explain something. I guess I'll ask my dad tomorrow.

want a slower connection? then switch to TMnut!
The move by TMnut to cap the p2p bandwidth of broadband users in Malaysia caused anger, online riot, madness, furious, explicit and vulgar cursings, morbid raging behaviours, super breakdown, hatred and all the extreme emotional and pshychological response of its subscribers especially the torrent community. An interesting and creative promotional banner.... I think TMnut should use the banner instead of the RM77/month promotion of 1Mbps Streamyx line with free modem. To those enlightened people who wish to join (or should I say discuss) about the 'campaign' may do so by registering yourself at Lowyat.net forum and go to this thread.

It's been a while since the last entry... have to admit that I'm kinda lazy to post anything eventhough there's a lot of interesting things happening around, the Drag Race 2006, Ramadhan (food!), world issues, computer stuffs, etc. My brain is quite active to think about stuffs, but my fingers are lazy to materialize what's running in my mind. Anyway today is the 5th day of Ramadhan, and the 5th day of fasting. For the past few years (since I was primary 4) I had never failed to complete the one whole month of fasting. Alhamdulillah, hopefully this will be another successful one. Anyway, the first three days I had headache... probably because dehydration or something. It was fine now, my body had already re-adjusting itself. Nothing much today. I just made some 'popia', a pretty quick one for buka puasa. I used chicken meat, with diced tomatoes and onions and mayonaise as filling.... and mozarella too! Hehe. So...I name the recipe as "Cheesy Chicken Salad Popia"... sounds cheesy, but there's really cheese in it :p. Ingredients: - chicken meat (boiled and finely blended)
- tomato (seeded and diced)
- onion (diced)
- mayonaise
- mozarella cheese (shredded)
- some pepper and salt to taste
- popia sheets
How to: - Mix all the ingredients and roll in the popia sheet. Don't put too much mayonaise or everything will get sloppy (not nice). Roll properly.
- Dip fry in cooking oil.

A new day on a new semester
The
first day of the second semester… everything was pretty much sorted out
especially with the timetable clashes. New schedule will give me the freedom of
waking up late every morning, or at least allows me to do any future last
minute assignments. Just nice I should say. But there won’t be anymore excuses
of missing class for waking up late. I know… I won’t. I better be serious in
keeping up with my studies. Finish everything quick, free from university, get
a job and try to be happy with adult life. Oh yea… this semester I’m enrolled
for FTV243, MCI212, Public Relation 200 and Marketing Services 311.
Glad
to see everyone back, although missed some faces today (heard that Giegel is in
Perth?). Haven’t
seen Ooja yet… and Iqbal, who else… Jasmine and Sarah should be around though…
erm… eh, how come Akam was in our FTV243 class? She did not take FTV121 last
semester and that unit was a pre-requisite for this one. I wonder why are the
lecturers so easy on her… was it because she’s a married woman with kids? I
mean… I have seen her sleeping during Dr.Thomas’s or Mr.Rama’s class, either
one of those, or could be both and was not being scold. And yet, I heard that
she always get high marks for her final marks.
Forget
about Akam… we have a new lecturer from Australia, Dr. Adam. He looks quite
young to hold a PHD. Early rumour was saying that he’s an exchange student…lol,
I knew he was the new lecturer, from Curtin website of course. He’ll be
assisting us for our FTV243 (Corporate Documentary Script Writing) tutorial.
Had
some drinks with Apen, Aji and Yus at Najua’s. Today was also Apen’s first day
of being a permanent lecturer…and he was late for his first lecture! LOL! The
4-guys meeting dismissed at around 11pm.
Feel
sleepy, going to bed. Until we meet again…

Here I am on logging from my newly installed Ubuntu 6.06 (for n00bs, Ubuntu is a Linux OS distro). I've been trying to install it since yesterday which met no success. Only today I've realized that I had made a few mistakes which was holding me back: 1. Unable to boot into Live Desktop. Problem: APIC enabled. Solution: Disabled APIC from the BIOS. 2. System freeze during the beginning of installation setup. Problem: My overclocked cpu was not 100% stable. Solution: reduced the speed a few MHz. .... damn, that was actually easy. And today, I mean this morning installation was successful and I'm already surfing the net without hiccups. Everything was configured automatically during installation. I would say this was as easy as installing Windows, although n00bs might found it a little bit hard to configure the partitions. This is definitely much-much easier compare to RedHat or Mandrake which I tried some time ago. I had PCLinuxOS on my dad's laptop. It was okay, but too much software bundles. This Ubuntu 6.06 package was installed with OpenOffice (like MSOffice), GIMP (like Photoshop), some music and video application, Firefox browser, and GAIM Internet Messenger (one application that supports different messenger services, like Yahoo & MSN just to name a few...nice!). Just minimal but practical. Right now, I'm trying to get the NTFS (WinXP) partition to be viewable, so that I can play all my MP3s and vids from here. Will update everything later on.... after I finish downloading all the software updates, which also handled by Ubuntu.
